See You Next Wednesday?

Hey everyone, Ben here.

We’re looking forward to our next event, a live recording with Peter Matthews (from Dig Where You Stand) and Quinn Slobodian.

Slobodian got our attention with his book Hayek’s Bastards (a National Book Critics Circle Award finalist for criticism), where he tracks right-wing ideas through different generations of intellectual history.

I remember listening to him on a podcast and feeling like yes, this is the way. Because following his understanding of how, for example, some populist ideas come directly out of neoliberal and anti-communist ones, you start to see how only the right seems to benefit from certain contemporary debates (like immigration).

And this work only continues with his newest book Muskism, which dives into the peculiar systems Musk is building, and what the consequences could be. You know, like Fordism - but authoritarian.

I hear there aren’t too many tickets left so please do book your seat if you want to come. We’re looking forward to seeing many of you there.

20th May @ 19:00

Jeremy Harding had to cancel his event due to a family emergency. Let us know if you bought a ticket so we can refund you.
